Disciples’ Generous Response
“F.G. Pitt, a missionary of the church in the early 1900’s, recorded a testimony of God in his life just before his death. In the recording, he joyfully cries out, “God is so good to me, God is so good to me.” You can tell by the tone and inflection of his voice that his words are spoken with honest emotion. In a sense, he conveys a passion for God. All of us here today, having given thought to God’s goodness to us, have also offered prayers of thanks. We are a people of faith and we seek God’s blessings. Our lives are full of testimonies of healing, hope, direction, consolation and inspiration. Like Brother F.G. Pitt, we, too have cause to give thanks and express God’s goodness. Today let us sing and give thanks to our Creator God. May our offering of love and gratefulness be reflected in the gifts we return to God.”
